Having joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 from Fulham, Mousa Dembele was one of the club’s longest-serving players.

He won over nearly all of the White Hart Lane faithful with his powerful midfield runs and his ability to lose three opponents with a drop of a shoulder, before calmly playing the ball to a team-mate.

Dembele took to Twitter nearly two years to the day (January 20th 2017) to show his excitement at the prospect of playing at the new Spurs stadium.

Unfortunately, with Dembele having officially left earlier today for Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F, he will not get the opportunity to play at the new 62,062 seater stadium.

The new ground was due to open on September 15th for the visit of Liverpool, a match which had to be moved to Wembley in which Dembele played. It is certainly sad that delays have robbed the Belgian of playing albeit what would have been a handful of games there.
