Piers Morgan and Gary Lineker involved in Twitter spat between Arsenal and Spurs

Piers Morgan and Gary Lineker are both known for their avid use of Twitter and the pair exchanged a series of Tweets following yesterday’s Premier League action.

Morgan, the shamed former editor of the Daily Mirror is known for being an Arsenal fan, while Lineker is a former Spurs striker who helped the club to lift the FA Cup in 1991.

After Lineker posted a tongue in cheek Tweet after Tottenham’s 5-0 thrashing of Bournemouth meant that they have now scored eleven goals in their last couple of Premier League outings, Morgan well and truly took the bait by challenging the Match of the Day host to a £10,000 bet in aid of charity that Spurs will not win the Premier League title this season.

Lineker countered Morgan’s challenge by instead requesting that the rule stipulates that Spurs can win the title in his lifetime or instead can finish above Arsenal this season.

Lineker believes that Liverpool will win the Premier League title this season, with Morgan accusing the World Cup golden boot winner of backing out of the challenge.
