Piers Morgan’s Twitter joke about Tottenham massively backfires

Piers Morgan certainly does a good job of making himself look foolish on a regular basis, there is no doubt about that.

The Arsenal-supporting, disgraced former editor of the Daily Mirror is known for being outspoken on Twitter and is prone to taking a dig at near neighbours Tottenham Hotspur.

Before Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League clash against Barcelona last night, Morgan took to Twitter to mock the fact that Spurs could have returned from the match eliminated from the competition by comparing the situation to Theresa May’s current Brexit problems.

Morgan often engages in Twitter exchanges with his friend and former Spurs chairman Lord Sugar and while Tottenham’s defeat in the North London derby saw Sugar have to donate £5,000 to charity for supporting the losing side, Sugar is now having the last laugh.

Tottenham showed fighting spirit against the Catalan giants to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw which was enough to secure a place in the knockout stages.
