Kyle Walker - Tottenham Hotspur News

Kyle Walker has stated his intention of playing his football for Tottenham.

The full-back impressed during loan spells at QPR and Aston Villa last season but is now ready to force his way into Harry Redknapp’s Spurs side.

Walker will be battling Vedran Corluka for the right-back berth at Spurs, while Alan Hutton is being tipped to join Villa.

“I’ve come here to play now,” he told Hotspur magazine.

“I have tasted Premier League football and that is what I want to do, I want to play football for Tottenham.

“I have signed a new contract and if I didn’t want to stay here I wouldn’t have signed it.

“I just want to play football and I want to play for Tottenham.”

  1. can’t believe ‘battling’ and ‘Corluka’ have been mentioned in the same sentence. Walker should be our 1st choice right back, with Kaboul and Gallas both as back up, Hutton and Corluka should be given away to anyone foolish enough to pay them.

  2. He must take over from Corluka as he has pace and seems good at attacking. Maybe he needs to learn a bit more defensively but that will come with games played.

  3. Corluka and Hutton are no mugs, Charlie has done well for us over the last few seasons and compliments Lennon perfectly!

Walker looks good but it’s early doors, he has some way to go but him and Lennon will be the fastest right sided pairing in world football.

  4. I agree. I don’t think we should be so quick

to write Corluka off. He’s done well for us in the past and while I think Walker looks good going forward and has done enough to deserve a chance, he has looked somewhat naive defensively during pre season.

  5. Was very poor defensively on south african tour. we all know how good he is going forward. maybe right wing is better for him.

  6. Corluka very rarely let’s the team down and

should be our first choice. Walker can play

the cup games to get experience otherwise

we will be dropping points while he learns

    to defend
