PLAYER RATINGS: Tottenham 2-3 West Ham

It was looking ever so comfortable up until half time, Tottenham headed into the dressing room 2-0 up and frankly did not return.

We’ve all joked that this was West Ham United’s cup final and in fairness they played the second half as if it was, with plenty more determination and heart than we did. Yes, it’s only the Carabao Cup, but we shouldn’t be losing a 2-0 lead to West Ham.

We offered nothing at all in the final third in the second half, Llorente cut a lonely figure in attack whilst he was on the pitch.  We lacked creativity in front of goal and were sloppy in defending our own goal.

2-0 and we f*cked it up.

Here are our player ratings

Vorm – 5

Dier – 5

Rose – 6

Sissoko – 6

  1. I use to feel sorry for vorm, he was a good keeper once and I didn't htink we'd settle for a place on the bench.
Now he is rubbish, never plays and shows no ambition to actually play football, he is just happy to take his pay cheque and do nothing.Sissoko yet again showed he doesn't deserve to be with the first team and Dele showed yet again that he needs to be dropped.

  2. I thought Sissoko was worth a 7 and our best player. Plus he scored. Vorm didn’t do much wrong. The first goal maybe, but the shot had a lot of sting. I was most disappointed with Llorente. We put some balls across him and he couldn’t be bothered to follow them or gamble. He might not have had great service, but not having a shot shows how lazy he was. This is not the player we saw at Swansea. He does need crosses to head though. Alli did well first half. Rose looked understandably rusty. Ben Davies doesn’t look comfortable at centre back. Dier doesn’t seem able to stop the attacks when our tails are down. I think Poch shouldn’t have taken off Llorente. Son struggles up front as a striker and won’t head anything. Eriksen and Dembele should have come on at 2-2. If you want to stay in the competition then Kane has to be on the bench. Gutless defending and stopped winning the 50-50s. All they have are set pieces and Ayew woke up. He’s always been a good player, but not shown it at West Ham until tonight. Hopefully we can learn a valuable lesson. A game is 90 minutes. London derbies are never ones to lose. We were lucky in the home game against them last season. We almost messed up at their place after being 3-0 up. Whatever was said at half time didn’t seem to get through to the players.
