Poch praise a factor in Barkley change of heart

When it comes to Tottenham transfer rumours at the moment, we aren’t exactly awash with exciting news while frustratingly, the rest of the Premier League seem to be strengthening their squads ahead of the new campaign.

Along with Juan Foyte, Ross Barkley is probably the player who has been most heavily linked with a move to our club over the past few weeks.

We’ve all heard the recent rumours ranging from Spurs willing to pay £25million, while Everton want £50million through to Barkley expecting around £150,00-a-week in wages.

The Evening Standard are reporting that the scouser was initially reluctant to move to London but has now had a change of heart after hearing glowing reports about Mauricio Pochettino from the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Danny Rose while on international duty.

Barkley currently earns around £60,000-a-week at Everton and is unlikely to be given the same basic wage as Kane and Hugo Lloris who both earn in the region of £100,000-a-week.

Spurs fans are certainly growing unsettled at our lack of activity to date in the transfer market.  When will we make our first signing?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Good question, whenever it is it won’t be of the quality we need cause we won’t pay the wages to sign someone like that.

    • get real spurs are not broken we just need a tweak we have a great team and we dont need to buy for the sake of it another goal scorer and right back cover will do C.O.Y.S

      • Who said we were broken? But we need another striker, class center back and a decent winger, we don’t need a right back, we have Trippier, Walker-Peters and Dier and Alderwiereld can both play there too. The trouble is we won’t sign the quality we need cause Levy won’t pay the wages needed to sign a quality player.

  2. 2018 Probably knowing Levy, I know we have a good squad but I can’t help but think everyone else is getting even stronger than us and we are going backward, looks like Foyte is going PSG now for example because we drag our feet yet again.

I wish Levy would wake up and see leaving it until 31st of August is far too late!!!

  3. The same thing happens every year, moaning all summer about the lack of investment in the team, how levy is ruining the club, we can’t possibly compete unless we spend 100 od mil on this player or that player. We Finished 3rd last year 2nd this year scoring more goal than anyone last year and conceding less goals than anyone in the last 2 seasons!! The only team that got more points than spur last season were Chelsea with no Euro games to play, the same can be said for Leicester the year before (ok arsenal pipped us to third) have some faith in the squad we already have, and in the manager!! Coys
