Pochettino makes huge statement of commitment to Spurs

Mauricio Pochettino has made the claim that he would be prepared to sign a 15 year contract to remain at Tottenham Hotspur.

Chairman Daniel Levy was quoted in Spanish journalist Guillem Balague’s book ‘Brave New World’ as saying he “love nothing more than for Mauricio still to be our manager in 10 or 15 years’ time”.

Pochettino has welcomed the statement from Levy with open arms and would be comfortable to put pen to paper to show his commitment to the club for the long term.

I don’t know about you, but as a Spurs fan, the fact that Pochettino can potentially still see himself still in charge of us in 15 years is a huge compliment. If he carries on progressing the way he is, it’s only a matter of time before Argentina or the likes of Real Madrid, PSG or another European giant try to prise him away from us.

Pochettino told the press: “I am very happy with Tottenham and I hope I stay 10 or 15 years here. If he wants me to, I would love to sign that contract.

“It is up to him. It is always up to the owner or the chairman whether you keep your position as a manager for a long or a short time. It is all about him.

“I am so happy at Tottenham. I have enjoyed my time here a lot – this is a club with big potential.

“We are waiting for the new stadium, the facilities we be the best in Europe, and we only need time to develop in the same way, to try to build a competitive team and win a trophy.
“I am so happy to hear that Daniel Levy is so kind to me and is telling everyone what he expects from me.”
