Pochettino makes bold statement about the new Spurs stadium

Tottenham Hotspur have the best football stadium in the world according to manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The 62,062 capacity seater ground will officially open its doors on Wednesday evening for the visit of Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Pochettino took his players to N17 yesterday to train on the pitch for the very first time and to give them the chance to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings.

The second and final test event will be held at the stadium tomorrow when the Spurs legends take on their Inter Milan counterparts which will see the club be awarded with a safety certificate following the match.

The stadium was due to open last September for the visit of Liverpool but issues with critical safety systems meant that Spurs had to extend their stay at Wembley for longer than had been anticipated.

Now the club are back home, Pochettino believes that all of the hard work has been worth it.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘I think it is amazing, everyone was surprised by the magnitude of the project.

‘The stadium is the best in the world, we can confirm that now. Every space is the best I have seen in my life, you can’t compare that with anything.

‘It’s an amazing project, it is going to be fantastic for the future of the club. It is going to be a massive boost for our fans and it must be for our players too.’
