Mauricio Pochettino provided an update on the status of Moussa Sissoko’s injury after the midfielder limped off during the 2-2 draw against Barcelona in Los Angeles.
The French international had to be replaced 36 minutes by Georges-Kevin N’Koudou with what the Spurs boss has now confirmed is a hamstring problem.
While Sissoko isn’t exactly held in high regard by the majority of Spurs fans, the reality is that we are suffering somewhat of a midfield injury crisis. Harry Winks and Josh Onomah both missed the USA tour through existing injury problems, while Victor Wanyama and Tashan Oakley-Boothe have both flown home for treatment and Erik Lamela was not risked with against Barcelona with a niggle.
If Levy isn’t prepared to start spending money on Jack Grealish, or whoever else Pochettino has on his shopping list, we could be in for a long season.
Pochettino told Football.London in the post-match press conference: “We need to assess him tomorrow, in the next few days, to see what happens. We hope it’s a minor injury but he feels something in his hamstring.”
