Pochettino provides worrying update on Dele Alli

Mauricio Pochettino has provided a fitness update on the current situation of Dele Alli.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been out of action since suffering a left hamstring injury during the second half of the 2-1 win at Fulham last month.

Dele has had a spell recovering from the strain in a warm weather training camp in Dubai but has since returned to England to continue his recovery at Hotspur Way.

Spurs have certainly missed the creativity of the England international in recent weeks, especially at Burnley on Saturday where the likes of Christian Eriksen were off their game and could not unlock the Clarets defence.

Pochettino has confirmed that he does not know when Dele will return to action and has confirmed that he will definitely miss tomorrow’s visit to Chelsea.

The manager was hesitant to confirm a date or upcoming fixture which they are targeting to integrate the former MK Dons man back into the fold.

He told Football.London: “Still I don’t know, we don’t know. We need to assess day by day. He’s doing well but we cannot say if he’s going to be available for the weekend or for the next week or the games against Borussia Dortmund or Southampton. It’s sure for tomorrow it’s impossible and then we’ll see.”
