Potential Dembele replacement admits his future is uncertain

Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has admitted that he does not know what his future holds beyond this season.

The midfielder has had another impressive season where he has attracted interest from a host of European clubs.

Manchester City and Spurs have both been linked with the £70 million-rated Ndombele in recent times, as reported by the Sun.

Tottenham are likely to want to recruit an additional midfielder this summer following the departure of Mousa Dembele to China in January left Mauricio Pochettino short on options due to Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama’s injury-hit seasons have meant that Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks have had to cope with most of the demand.

Ndombele is only in his third full season as a professional footballer and his first since a permanent transfer to Lyon following a successful loan from Amiens in 2017/18 which has seen him billed as one of the most promising talents in Europe.

The Frenchman has scored twice and provided eight assists in 47 appearances for Les Gomes during the 2018-19 campaign.

“I focus only on the pitch,” Ndombele told the official Lyon website.

“We may be talking about myself during the holidays but I will not take care of it. I’ll go relax, rest my head. It’s still a little vague because I do not know what I want today. What will happen will happen. I have peace of mind and this is the most important,”
