Pre Match Thoughts: Spurs vs Rubin Kazan

White Hart Lane - Tottenham Hotspur News

This time last year, we were checking loyalty points and looking forward to trips to the San Siro and the Bernebau. Now we are looking up teams such as Rubin Kazan – oh how the mighty hath fallen!

It may seem like an inconvenience but on the assumption that no injuries are picked up to ‘key’ players this still remains a major European competition and one that should be taken seriously.

This is an opportunity to rotate the squad, give those that haven’t featured much in the PL some experience in case they are called upon and continue a positive run. Winning breeds confidence and strikers benefit from scoring goals. Its also an opportunity to give those returning from injury a chance to get some match fitness.

Take it seriously Spurs and don’t put us through the ringer like you did against Shamrock. High tempo from the off – couple of early goals and a clean sheet is the objective

  1. I really loved the fact that before the Arsenal game arry said this just before they went out

    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition:
    And gentlemen in England now a-bed
    Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day

    I know that Davspurs loves that too. Saw him in Dillons today looking at the existential poets of the thirties
