President warns clubs off Tottenham target

Lyon have warned interested clubs that midfielder Tanguy Ndombele will not be sold this summer.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the 21-year-old over the past few weeks with Mauricio Pochettino identifying him as a potential replacement for Mousa Dembele who is expected to depart Spurs after the conclusion of the World Cup.

Replacing Dembele would be no easy feat, however Ndombele is said to have had an impressive season in Ligue 1 after joining from Amiens.

Lyon president Jean Michel-Aulas has dismissed any talk of bids received from the likes of Spurs and Chelsea, insisting he will be part of their midfield next season.

We have not had any offers for him,” Aulas told RMC Sport.

“While other clubs are interested, he will be with us next year in the middle.

“We must not let our best players leave.”
