Pundit claims expensive Spurs signing has been told to leave the club

Former Leeds United defender Danny Murphy has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have told Tanguy Ndombele to find a new club.

The 23-year-old became Tottenham’s club record signing last summer when he made the £55million switch to North London from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon (talkSPORT)

Big things were expected of the Frenchman who, during his time at Lyon, emerged as one of the brightest young talents in European football which led to reported interest from the likes of Manchester United (The Sun).

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho slammed Ndombele in March following his performance at Turf Moor, when the midfielder didn’t make a single tackle or interception before he was hauled off at half-time (Independent).

Mills believes that a potential swap deal involving Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti as an option whilst claiming that Ndombele’s time at Tottenham appears to be coming to an end.

The Mail claim that the French international is considering his future at the Champions League finalists.

Mills told Football Insider: “It is quite clear that Ndombele does not fit in at Tottenham. He has not settled in any way shape or form and they have done everything possible to try and fit him in.

“They have told him, “Go and find yourself another club.” It does not look like he has a future at Tottenham.

“Tottenham need to strengthen defensively without a shadow of a doubt. One, possibly two good centre-halfs are needed.

“Alderweireld is not getting any younger so they will have to do some business.

“But after they were seen furloughing staff they might have to do some clever dealings to look right as much as anything.”
