Pundit defends Serge Aurier on Twitter only to later delete his Tweet

Former West Ham United and Scotland midfielder Don Hutchinson has taken to Twitter to defend Serge Aurier.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender was at fault for giving away a penalty against Liverpool at Anfield yesterday afternoon which proved to be costly.

The Ivorian made contact with Saido Mane inside the penalty area which led to Mo Salah drilling the ball low beyond Paulo Gazzaniga in front of the Kop in what turned out to be the winning goal.

Spurs had led within a minute courtesy of Harry Kane’s quick reaction to nod home Heung-min Son’s effort which came back off the woodwork.

Liverpool bombarded the goal and levelled through captain Jordan Henderson on 52 minutes and took all three points following Aurier’s foul with fifteen minutes left to play.

Hutchinson claimed that Aurier had performed well and was unlucky to concede the penalty as he did not know that the Liverpool player was behind him, the 48-year-old has since deleted his Tweet.

His comments were the polar opposite of Roy Keane, who labelled Aurier and Rose as dumb and dumber (Sky Sports).
