“Put Vertonghen on free kicks” – Some Spurs fans react to defender’s goal assist

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to sing the praises of Jan Vertonghen for his part in the opening goal of the game.

The Belgian found himself playing in the left wing back position against Borussia Dortmund after injuries to Ben Davies and Danny Rose ruled them out of the Champions League first leg.

Just moments after half time, Vertonghen found himself down the left flank, looked up and delivered a stunning left-footed curling ball which picked out Heung-min Son and the South Korean continued his impressive goal scoring form.

Son has now scored nine goals in eleven appearances against Borussia Dortmund in his career and gives Spurs a crucial lead.

There is no doubt that Dortmund had the lions share of play in the first half with Jadon Sancho causing problems down the right side.

Here is how some Spurs fans reacted to the goal, which came from the players pressing high on their German opponents.
