RB Leipzig attempt to wind up some Tottenham fans ahead of tonight’s match

The Champions League returns to Tottenham Hotspur this evening under the lights in North London.

RB Leipzig, who currently occupy second place in the Bundesliga table are the visitors to N17.

It is the first time in which the German side have reached the knockout stages of the competition in what has been a remarkable rise to European football’s most prestigious club competition.

Backed by energy drink producer Red Bull, went from the fifth division in Germany to the top flight in the space of just seven seasons.

The official Leipzig Twitter account aimed a dig at Tottenham yesterday when they put out a Tweet summarising their rise to glory whilst also asking the North London side what they have achieved in the last ten years.

Tottenham have failed to win a competitive trophy in the past twelve years with the last success coming in the League Cup in 2008 following an extra time victory against Chelsea at Wembley.
