Recent Spurs signing names the two players who have helped him to settle

Tottenham Hotspur made their first signing of the January transfer window when they brought in Gedson Fernandes on an initial 18-month loan from Benfica with an option to buy.

The Portuguese international had been linked with moves to Manchester United, West Ham and Chelsea but instead made the move to North London (NBC Sports).

The 21-year-old has had a limited impact in his short time in a Spurs shirt to date having made nine appearances in all competitions (transfermarkt).

Fernandes has revealed that two of the Spurs squad have particularly helped him to settle into life at the Champions League finalists.

The midfielder named Lucas Moura and Eric Dier as the pair who have made him feel at home due to the fact that they both speak Portuguese.

He told the club’s Twitter channel: “It was Lucas [Moura] and Eric [Dier] because both of them speak Portuguese and they help me a lot.”
