Report: 28-year-old wants to join Tottenham this summer

According to a report from Bild (as relayed by HITC), Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels is open to a summer switch to Tottenham Hotspur.

Multiple reports (L’Equipe and The Telegraph) over the last few weeks have suggested that Hugo Lloris could be on his way back to Ligue 1 in the summer.

Spurs have been linked with several potential replacements for their captain, including Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, West Brom number one Sam Johnstone and Man United’s Dean Henderson who put in an impressive performance against the Lilywhites yesterday.

Casteels was the latest name to be linked with a move to Spurs, with Christian Falk revealing last week that the Belgian international is on the North Londoners’ shortlist and Mourinho’s men are tracking his performances ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bild have now revealed that the 28-year-old, who is contracted to Wolfsberg until 2024, wants to join Tottenham at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lloris has to sign a new contract if he is to stay as his current deal runs out in 2022. My gut feeling is that the Frenchman will sign an extension and we will sign a relatively cheap option like Johnstone to serve as Lloris’ understudy and potentially take over from the Tottenham captain when he leaves.
