Report: Arsenal ready to land reported Spurs target for £45m

Tottenham Hotspur could face competition from North London rivals Arsenal who have reportedly entered the race to sign Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.

Spanish news outlet AS claim that Gunners boss Unai Emery has identified the Madrid midfielder as a top transfer target and is prepared to pay £45million to land the player.

Tottenham have previously been linked with a move for the 22-year-old with The Sun claiming that he had been offered to Tottenham as a makeweight in a Madrid move for Christian Eriksen which would also see the North London club receive a £45million fee.

Ceballos has impressed for Spain at the Under-21 European Championships after scoring two goals and providing two assists in their opening three matches but is said to be out of favour at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane (AS).

He started just two of Madrid’s final 11 matches of the La Liga season and could now find his future lies in North London; whether that be red or white.
