Report: Bundesliga winger ‘wooed’ by both Spurs and Everton

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are both said to be interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey.

German news outlet Sport1 claim that the Premier League pair will have to stump up around €40million to land the winger with both clubs said to have ‘wooed’ the winger with their interest.

Bailey is expected to take to the field in tonight’s Europa League last 16 tie with Rangers with the report claiming that representatives from Spurs and Everton will be ‘keeping an eye’ on the performance of the Jamaican.

The 22-year-old is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League and recently swapped agents and is now represented by Aidy Ward who also looks after Raheem Sterling.

Bailey has made 31 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists (transfermarkt).

Bailey is a good player but whether Spurs will be in a position to shell out a fee in the region of €40million following the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic is questionable.
