Report: Celtic and Spurs in talks over midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic are reportedly in discussions over a deal to take Victor Wanyama back to Scotland.

Sky Sports claim that both clubs are holding talks but it is not yet known whether it is for a loan or permanent transfer.

The 28-year-old midfielder has fallen considerably down in the midfield pecking order in North London behind the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, Tanguy Ndombele, Oliver Skipp, Harry Winks and Gedson Fernandes.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has previously spoken of his desire to strike up a deal for the Kenyan international but claimed that it would be doubtful for financial reasons (Herald Scotland).

After an impressive first season at Spurs following his move from Southampton, Wanyama has struggled with knee injuries which have hampered his ability to feature on a regular basis.

Wanyama is said to be attracting plenty of interest ahead of the deadline with the likes of Galatasaray and Lazio having previously been linked with a move (Daily Record).
