The Jack Grealish saga continues to dominate the Tottenham transfer rumour mill today with a conflict of reports from the media.
While The Sun claim today that Chelsea are set to gazump Spurs in the race to sign the Aston Villa midfielder, The Evening Standard are reporting a different side of the story by claiming that the player himself expects to complete his switch to Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the coming days.
A lot has been made about Villa’s current financial predicament, which has been eased with investment from a couple of billionaire’s, but they still need to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been apparently holding out making an offer for the 21-year-old due to the Midlands outfit’s situation and an opening bid of £20million is expected to be rebuffed by Villa chiefs.
Grealish is reported to have indicated that he wants the Spurs switch to happen and could become our first signing of the summer, with just seven days to run until the window closes until January.
