Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be dealing with several cases of coronavirus ahead of the new Premier League season, according to the Daily Mail.
French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has already been named as having contracted the virus and was removed from Didier Deschamps’ squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Sweden and Croatia next month with the 23-year-old currently undergoing a 14-day self-isolation period (talkSPORT).
Star striker Harry Kane has also been in quarantine after arriving back from a holiday in the Bahamas and had yet to feature for the club in pre-season.
The Daily Mail claim that at least two more of Jose Mourinho’s playing staff in addition to Ndombele have the virus with England boss Gareth Southgate expecting to learn how badly affected his squad has been hit by the number of players who are said to have been affected.
A player or member of staff from Tottenham was the only individual to test positive for coronavirus in the fifth round of testing conducted back in June (talkSPORT).
Spurs will this afternoon face Birmingham City in their third pre-season match ahead of the new campaign.
