Report: Daniel Levy ready to sanction transfer for long-term target

Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Paris-Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot in a £20million move this month.

The Sun reports that the deal hinges on whether the French champions can bring in Idrissa Gueye from Everton as a replacement.

PSG are keen to avoid letting Rabiot leave for free in the summer, but they may not let him leave the club unless they have secured a midfielder to fill the void which Rabiot would leave in their squad.

The French international was recently banished to the reserves by manager Thomas Tuchel after refusing a new contract at the Parc des Princes.

According to the report, Mauricio Pochettino has already spoken to the 23-year-old about the possibility of joining Spurs and Daniel Levy is ready to sanction a £20million deal.

If Rabiot were to make the switch, he would become Tottenham’s first signing since they brought in Lucas Moura, also from PSG on 31st January of last year.

Barcelona have made a pre-contract offer to take Rabiot to the Nou Camp in the summer, yet nothing has been signed.

The Catalan giants have just signed Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong, whch could hamper any possibility of Rabiot also joining the La Liga outfit.
