Report: Eriksen’s agent is playing hard ball with Tottenham

Christian Eriksen’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains up in the air according to reports.

The Mirror claim that the Dane and his representatives are refusing to negotiate a new contract in North London despite being offered improved terms said to be worth £200,000-a-week.

The 27-year-old reportedly has his heart set on a move to Spain but neither Real Madrid or Barcelona have made a firm offer to date.

Eriksen’s situation is said to be frustrating Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy, who could see one of his star players leave the club for free next summer when his contract expires.

The European transfer window closes on September 2nd and it remains to be seen if there will be an offer from La Liga.

Tottenham are holding out for around £50millon, with Madrid unlikely to meet the asking price, while Barcelona have already signed Frenkie de Jong.

With a trip to Arsenal in the North London derby awaiting Spurs on Sunday, it isn’t exactly the ideal preparation for Spurs with the future of their most creative player looking ever increasingly in doubt.
