Christian Eriksen’s potential move to Real Madrid may have taken a step closer if reports in the Spanish media are to be believed.

AS have previously reported that with Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane had both Manchester United’s Paul Pogba on his radar along with the Tottenham’s playmaker Christian Eriksen.

However, a new report from AS suggests that Pogba would prefer to return to Juventus to play his football next season rather than move to Madrid.

Instead, it is suggested that Madrid will move for Christian Eriksen and Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz to complete their summer spending with the tabloid describing the Dane as the ‘most feasible option’.

By moving for Eriksen instead of Pogba, Los Blancos would be left with enough funds to also sign the Serie A player.

Eriksen revealed just days after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool of his desire to leave North London this summer in order to seek a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

Based on this report, he could be about to see his wish come true.
