Report: European giants still interested in January move for Spurs star

Real Madrid are expected to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window with Christian Eriksen remaining a target (Marca).

The Spanish giants currently top the La Liga table but have struggled in the Champions League after managing to only pick up a point from their opening two matches.

Eriksen is within the last twelve months of his contract in North London and has already spoken of his desire to leave the club whilst inviting interest from Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was keen to bolster his midfield during the summer but a move for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba failed to materialise (OK Diario).

The report claims that Madrid are looking to clear space in their squad before any new arrivals with Mariano Diaz and Brahim Diaz both deemed surplus to requirements.

Eriksen has found himself in and out of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line up this season with former Spur Graham Roberts even suggesting that the Dane is dropped completely from the squad (talkSPORT).
