Report highlights why Spurs are losing more money than any Premier League club at present

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be losing more money than any other Premier League club at the moment.

The Daily Mail claim that as a result of the football season grinding to an abrupt halt as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the North London club are suffering more than their top flight competitors because of the revenue generated by the new stadium, with match-day income of around £5 million, according to the report.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy took the decision earlier this week to announce that 550 non-playing staff will take a 20% pay cut for April and May and will utilise the Government’s furlough scheme where possible in an attempt to “protect jobs”.

Currently, there is no indication of when the football season could resume after England’s football bodies met on Friday and decided they had little option other than to extend the current suspension – initially set for 3 April and then 30 April until it is safe to do so (BBC).
