Report: Italian side could take advantage of Spurs’ rumoured lengthy transfer saga

Tottenham Hotspur lost the services of one of their most experienced central defenders last month when Jan Vertonghen departed North London after eight years at the club.

One player who has been heavily linked with a potential arrival at the Champions League finalists is Kim-min Jae with 90min reporting late last month that Spurs were confident of completing a deal for the South Korean.

Football.London claimed that Spurs had made serious enquiries with Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan with the 23-year-old valued at £15million with just a year left to run on his current contract.

Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport are now claiming that Lazio director of football Igli Tare could soon hold talks with Beijing with Spurs struggling to get a deal over the line.

Lazio are having issues of their own in their attempt to land Marash Kumbulla from Verona and may decide to switch their attention to the 6ft 3in South Korean who is nicknamed ‘monster’.
