Report: Jose Mourinho could land a £2million windfall from Daniel Levy

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho could be set to pocket £2million if he can achieve Champions League qualification this season (Daily Mail).

Mauricio Pochettino guided the North Londoners to four successive appearances in the Champions League along with a first appearance in the final of European football’s most prestigious club competition before being dismissed in November.

Mourinho enjoyed a promising start to life at Tottenham and at one stage could have overtaken Chelsea in fourth place, however, a poor run of form has seen the gap with his former employers expand back to nine points.

Spurs qualified for the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League after finishing in second place in Group B behind Bayern Munich and will face RB Leipzig in the round of sixteen.

Chairman Daniel Levy is known for his track record of implementing performance-based bonuses for his staff and players with £2million appearing to be a relatively small price to pay to once again dine at European football’s top table.
