Report: Kieran Trippier could be set for a summer Spurs exit

Rewind to July of last year and Kieran Trippier had just scored a stunning free kick for England in the semi final of the World Cup against Croatia.

The right-back’s stock had never been higher and since that fateful evening in Russia, he has looked a shadow of the player that impressed on the world’s biggest stage.

Trippier has endured injury issues and patchy form at Tottenham this season which has seen some fans question whether he should be picked by Mauricio Pochettino.

The 28-year-old has become somewhat of a liability in defence and this was again evident on Wednesday night when he failed to get close to Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, with his England team-mate torturing him when in attack and at least one of his goals coming from Trippier’s poor positioning.

According to a report from Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Trippier is attracting interest from Serie A giants Napoli.

Manchester United are also said to be keen on the former Burnley player, who needs a fresh start and a confidence boost.
