Report: Manchester United have alternative to Mauricio Pochettino lined up

Manchester United are reported to have their eye on RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann as a potential alternative to Mauricio Pochettino.

ESPN claim that the Old Trafford outfit are reluctant to sack current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite the outcome of this weekend’s Premier League fixture against Everton.

Solskjaer has found himself under pressure following consecutive defeats at the hands of Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir.

Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy almost a year ago following the club’s poor start to the 2019/20 campaign and admitted during Monday’s appearance on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show that he is ready for a return to management.

United are already said to have sounded out the Argentine over the possibility of taking over as boss at the former Premier League champions (Daily Star).

Nagelsmann, 33, has built up an impressive reputation in Germany as a result of his work with Hoffenheim and guided Leipzig to an appearance in the semi-final of the Champions League last season having eliminated Spurs at the round of 16 stage.
