Report: Manchester United ready to make summer move for Spurs star

Manchester United are prepared to wait until the summer to attempt to sign Christian Eriksen.

The Dane is out of contract at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and has previously expressed his desire to leave the club to seek a new challenge whilst inviting interest from Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

The Telegraph report that United are monitoring Eriksen’s situation and believe they can bring him to Old Trafford on a free transfer.

Spurs are said to be prepared to sell the 27-year-old for £40million in the January transfer window or risk losing him for nothing at the end of the current campaign.

It is claimed that Eriksen has told Spurs that he has no plans to sign a new deal in North London.

Eriksen’s hopes of a move to Real Madrid have been impacted by the emergence of Federico Valverde.

Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan are both keen on taking Eriksen to Serie A with the playmaker able to open discussions over a pre-contract deal when the window opens next month.
