Report: Medical booked for Spurs player; exit on the cards

A second player could be following Kieran Trippier out of the exit at Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days.

Vincent Janssen is reported to set to undergo a medical in Europe on Monday ahead of a move to Liga MX side Monterrey (Football.London).

The Dutchman was left out of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the tour of the Far East with the club clarifying that Janssen along with Danny Rose and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou were omitted to explore possible opportunities with other clubs (Spurs official).

Pochettino brought the 25-year-old back into the first team fold towards the end of last season having not played a game for the first team from 27th August 2017 to April 23rd 2019 (transfermarkt).

Janssen has failed to make an impact in North London since his £17million move from AZ Alkmaar in 2017 and is now in the last year of his contract (BBC).

His departure from the club will further free up the wage bill and he will now look to get his career back on track across the pond.
