Report: Mourinho keen on former Manchester City player

Tottenham Hotspur have had little issue in finding the back of the net following Jose Mourino’s arrival as head coach.

Spurs have scored sixteen goals in five matches under the management of the former Manchester United boss.

The Mirror report that Mourinho is keen to bolster Tottenham’s attacking options by recruiting former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko in January as cover for Harry Kane.

Kane has suffered two different ankle injuries this calendar year which saw him miss seventeen matches for Spurs (transfermarkt).

Dzeko, 33, has scored eight goals in nineteen matches in all competitions for Roa this season whilst also providing three assists (transfermarkt).

Spurs lost two attacking alternatives during the summer when they parted company with both Champions League hero Fernando Llorente and Dutch flop Vincent Janssen.

Mourinho has put his faith in 17-year-old Troy Parrott as a potential attacking option to his first team after handing the Republic of Ireland international his Premier League debut in the 85th minute of Saturday’s 5-0 demoliton of Burnley.
