Report: Pochettino left unimpressed after Spurs failed to sign key transfer target

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with many high profile players during the summer transfer window.

Whilst the North London club were able to get deals over the line for Jack Clarke, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon other names did not put pen to paper including Paulo Dybala (BBC) and Philippe Coutinho.

The Sun claim that Mauricio Pochettino is unhappy with Tottenham for failing to land Coutinho.

The Brazilian played for Pochettino during their time together at Espanyol and was keen to bring him to the Champions League finalists.

Coutinho was made available by Barcelona and was snapped up by German giants Bayern Munich on a loan deal until the end of the season.

It is claimed that Pochettino had targeted the former Liverpool man as a key part of his rebuild.

The 27-year-old featured for Bayern in the 7-2 demoliton of Spurs in the recent Champions League clash but has recently found himself on the bench after failing to impress for the Bundesliga champions.
