Report: Premier League rival try to sign target from under Tottenham’s nose

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon for well over a year (Telegraph).

The 18-year-old’s contract expires at the end of next season and the Craven Cottage outfit risk losing him for free if they do not sell him this summer.

Sessegnon is expected to leave Fulham this summer following their relegation back to the Championship and the BBC claimed earlier this week that Spurs were set to rekindle their interest with the player keen on a move to North London.

Sky Sports are today reporting that Manchester United have made contact with Fulham and are the first club to do so, with Spurs and Juventus both remaining interested.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to make wholesale changes to his squad following their sixth-place finish in the Premier League. However, he is not the only manager with ideas in the transfer market.

Mauricio Pochettino has warned Tottenham he could quit if he is not backed in the transfer market (talkSPORT).

Sessegnon was named Championship player of the year in 2017/18 and struggled to make an impact during the first half of his debut Premier League season but did seem more settled under new boss Scott Parker.

Despite his early difficulties in the top flight, the England Under-21 international istill regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the country
