Report: Real Madrid to make derisory offer for Spurs star

Tottenham Hotspur are bracing themselves for a bid from Real Madrid this summer to take Christian Eriksen to Spain.

According to The Sun on Sunday, Madrid will make the approach when Eriksen only has twelve months to run on his existing deal at Spurs and will make a £50million offer.

The report suggests that Madrid are already expecting that their opening bid will be rejected out of hand by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Madrid have earmarked the Dane as a potential replacement for Luka Modric with the former Spur having been linked with a move to Inter Milan in the past (Sky Sports).

Pochettino suggested earlier this week that Eriksen could sign a new deal at Spurs ‘next week’ or in ‘six months’ but ultimately it was more important for the club to give him enough space and time to make his own decision.

Chelsea will also receive a similar approach and offer for their star man Eden Hazard, who like Eriksen, will also be in the last year of his contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
