Jose Mourinho is a serious contender for the managerial vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Sports are reporting.
Tottenham confirmed that they have parted company with Mauricio Pochettino earlier this evening after five-and-a-half years in charge.
Spurs have made a disappointing start to the current campaign and are 14th in the Premier League.
Pochettino’s last game in charge was Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at Sheffield United in the Premier League on 9 November
Mourinho has been out of work since he was sacked by Manchester United last December after guiding the Old Trafford outfit to League Cup and Europa League titles.
He spent nearly £400m on eleven players whilst in charge of the former Premier League champions but was unable to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City (BBC).
Mourinho has never completed four consecutive seasons in charge of a club having also managed Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Spurs now head into Saturday’s match against West Ham United without anyone confirmed to be taking over the role on a caretaker basis.
