Report: Some Spurs players unhappy with team-mate after heated row with Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has reportedly been involved in a heated exchange of words with Jose Mourinho.

The left-back was left out of Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Watford with Mourinho claiming after the final whistle at Vicarage Road that Rose had picked up a small back issue on Thursday whilst also insisting that he was still part of his plans (Football London).

The Athletic claimed earlier this week that Rose was fit to be considered for selection to face the Hornets but was instead overlooked with the Portuguese selecting the inexperienced Japhet Tanganga to play on the left side of defence.

The Mail claim that Rose and Mourinho were heard to have a heated debate on Sunday during a warm down session at Hotspur Way.

It is reported that some other members of the Spurs squad were unhappy with Rose’s behaviour and reaction to being dropped had made the situation to confrontational.

After the television cameras had stopped rolling during the start of Tottenham’s session on Monday, Mourinho was said to have pulled Rose aside to clear the air for the benefit of his squad.

Rose has previously stated his intention to run down his contract which expires next summer after claiming that he was told by Daniel Levy that he would not be offered a new deal (Telegraph).
