Report: Spurs agree £20m fee for heavily-linked transfer target

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have had a £20million bid accepted by Southampton for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The Sun claim that the £20million fee could also include performance-related add ons and suggest that the deal is likely to be signed and sealed over the course of the weekend.

Sky Sports reported earlier this week that both clubs had agreed a deal worth around £15million in principle to take the Dane to North London subject to the agreement of personal terms and completion of medicals.

Reports of a deal were questioned by Radio Solent journalist Adam Blackmore on Tuesday who believed that Spurs were still some way off the Saint’s valuation of the midfielder.

Hojbjerg was stripped of the club captaincy by Southampton in June after revealing his desire to move to a bigger club (BBC).

The Danish international has just twelve months to run on his contract at St Mary’s with Southampton running the risk of losing him for nothing should he stay on the south coast until next summer.
