Report: Spurs considering hijacking Arsenal transfer

Tottenham Hotspur are reported not to be ready to give up on their hopes of bringing Willian to the club and could look to hijack Arsenal’s move for the Chelsea midfielder (Express).

Willan is out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer and contract talks over the possibility of remaining at the club have reached a stalemate after snubbing a two-year deal due to his expectations of a three-year contract (Guardian).

The 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to North London rivals Arsenal who are said to have met his demands of a three-year offer with talks rumoured to be at a very advanced stage (Independent).

The report claims that Tottenham are yet to make an offer for the Brazilian who worked with Mourinho at Chelsea but are monitoring his situation.

Willian has been in impressive form for Chelsea this season, scoring eleven goals in 47 appearances in all competitions which included a two-goal display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December (transfermarkt).
