Report: Spurs could face competition from Chelsea for Manchester United player

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be monitoring Dean Henderson’s situation at Manchester United.

The Daily Mail claim that Spurs are preparing to make changes to their goalkeeping personnel in the summer.

The club moved to bring Michel Vorm back to the club as a free agent just five months after he departed North London on a deal until the end of the season to provide additional goalkeeping cover after Hugo Lloris suffered a elbow injury in October.

Paulo Gazzaniga stepped up to fill the void left by the Frenchman but has shown that he is prone to lapses of misconcentration which was evident in the 2-0 defeat at home to Chelsea when he conceded a penalty after a calamitious decision to attempt to clear the ball rather than punch cost his side dearly.

Henderson is currently spending his second season in a row at Sheffield United on loan and has been pivotal in the Blades’ remarkable campaign.

The 22-year-old would have to remove David de Gea as the Old Trafford outfit’s first-choice goalkeeper when he returns to the club in the summer.

Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Sheffield United are all said to be joining Spurs in harbouring an interest in the shot stopper who will be a prime contender to be included in England’s Euro 2020 squad this summer.
