Report: Spurs could face Premier League competition for £50m target

Tottenham Hotspur could face competition from a Premier League rival for one of their rumoured transfer targets.

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is said to be on the radar of the Champions League finalists, with The Mirror reporting that Manchester United have now made contact with the Dutch champions.

Tottenham number one Hugo Lloris has been ruled out until next year with a dislocated elbow which he suffered in the 3-0 defeat at Brighton early last month and has since had to undergo surgery.

Lloris has been prone to major errors, including one in the build up to his injury against the Seagulls when he dropped the ball on his own goal line following a cross before falling awkwardly into his own net.

Paulo Gazzaniga has performed relatively well in the absence of the Frenchman, but Spurs did move to re-sign their former keeper Michel Vorm to provide further cover.

The Mirror claim that Ajax value the 23-year-old at around the £50million-mark with Paris Saint-Germain also keeping tabs on the player.
