Report: Spurs could land Bundesliga player for cut-price £9million fee

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly secure the services of Schalke midfielder Can Bozdogan for a cut-price £9million transfer fee this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The report also claims that La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also interested in landing the 19-year-old.

Bozdogan made three Bundesliga appearances for the Gelsenkirchen outfit last season after making the breakthrough into David Wagner’s side towards the end of the campaign and was sent off after picking up two bookings in the 2-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt in June (transfermarkt).

The former Germany Under-18 international and captain of the club’s Under-19 side is under contract until 2022 with Spurs said to have ‘fallen in love’ with the versatile midfielder who is capable of operating on the left, attacking midfield and also in the middle of the park.

Football London journalist, Alasdair Gold, has claimed earlier this month that he is certain that the North London club have watched Bozdogan in action.
