Report: Spurs could miss out on target after he was photographed having a tour elsewhere

Tottenham Hotspur look set to miss out on Bolton Wanderers’ promising youngster Luca Connell.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the highly-rated 18-year-old who is set to depart the financially stricken League One side this summer (The Sun).

His contract is set to expire later this month and his former employers would only be eligible to a £250,000 training compensation fee.

Connell was spotted north of the border when he paid a visit to Scottish champions Celtic to meet with club officials ahead of a potential transfer (Daily Record).

While nothing has been confirmed that he will move to Celtic, it can certainly be taken as a sign that he could be nearing a deal with Neil Lennon’s side.

The Republic of Ireland youth international can operate at both left-back as well as a holding midfielder and made twelve appearances for the Trotters last season after breaking into the first team in January.

Spurs certainly seem to have a focus of trying to capture some of the brightest talents playing in the English footballing pyramid which is something we have enjoyed success at in previous years with the signings of Danny Rose, Aaron Lennon, Dele Alli and Gareth Bale to name a few.
