Report: Spurs could rival Chelsea in summer move for Ajax player

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be interested in signing Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana in the summer.

Goal claim that Spurs could be set to challenge Chelsea and Barcelona for the Cameroonian stopper, who is understood to be keen to leave at the end of the season.

Spurs could be tempted to battle for Onana with Hugo Lloris currently experiencing a difficult spell in his Spurs career.

The Frenchman missed three months of the season after dislocating his elbow during the 3-0 defeat at Brighton in October and has made a number of key errors in matches, most recently where he was arguably at fault for both of RB Leipzig’s opening goals in the Champions League exit on Tuesday night.

Understudy Paulo Gazzaniga was given the chance to prove that he could fill the void left by Lloris but has failed to impress after showing moments of madness at times which have cost Spurs dearly, notably during the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Chelsea are said to be considering their goalkeeping options after Kepa Arrizabalaga was dropped by Frank Lampard while Barcelona are yet to agree on a new deal with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
