Report: Spurs have intensified transfer talks with Italian club in recent weeks

Tottenham Hotspur’s talks with Inter Milan over a possible transfer for Milan Škriniar are said to have intensified in recent weeks.

Tuttosport claim that while talks have been ongoing between both clubs, a deal is still somewhat way off.

Inter are reported to be prepared to allow the 25-year-old to leave if they are able to find a replacement.

Škriniar is said to have gone from being indispensable at the Serie A giants to having only started one of their last five matches (transfermarkt).

During his time at the San Siro, he has established himself as one of the best defenders in Italy and has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Jan Vertonghen, who departed last month following the conclusion of his contract (Sport Witness).

Corriere dello Sport have also previously reported that a possible swap deal involving Tanguy Ndombele and Škriniar is a possibility with Jose Mourinho said to be a big admirer of the Slovakian international.
