Report: Spurs leading the race for striker who wants Premier League return

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has reportedly told his team-mates that he wants to move to a Premier League club to keep his place in the England international set up, according to The Telegraph.

After five years of playing in the top flight of English football, Bournemouth were unable to avoid relegation to the Championship on the final day of the season.

Tottenham are reported to be leading the chase to land the 28-year-old who scored eight goals in 35 Premier League appearances for Eddie Howe’s side last season (transfermarkt).

Jose Mourinho’s side are said to be ready to launch a £10million offer for Wilson, who has won for caps for England.

With Gareth Southgate having the likes of Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Tammy Abraham and in-form Danny Ings to consider ahead of next summer’s European Championships, Wilson said to be concerned about being left behind if he remains in the Championship next season.

A £10m deal for Wilson would represent good value but whether he would be happy to play second fiddle to England captain Harry Kane in North London seems questionable if he wants to be named in the squad for the Euros.
